The EM rotation for fourth year students is a four week elective (based on Einstein’s rotation dates). During the rotation, you will rotate through the very busy EDs of Jacobi Medical Center and Montefiore Medical Center. Students will have direct patient care responsibilities under the supervision of ED attendings and senior EM residents. You will be expected to take a history, perform a physical, develop a plan for your patients. As needed, you will perform procedures and assist during resuscitations.
In addition to clinical experience and bedside teaching, students will get several hours of learning via procedural workshops, simulation and online lectures. This rotation is valuable and educational to students interested in all fields, but particularly to those applying to Emergency Medicine. There will be opportunity for students to get mentoring from the attendings who are all EM trained.
Please See the Links in the toolbars for important information for rotators, those interested Jacobi/Montefiore EM, or EM in general.
